Saddle to the Skillet started in the most ordinary way; I wrote a cookbook for my girls. When they left home, I wanted them to have all the recipes and little kitchen tricks they grew up with. I figured it would just be something they kept on their shelves, but more people connected with it than I ever expected.

Once the cookbook took off, I didn’t want a store that only sold one thing. That didn’t feel like me. I wanted a place where folks could find things that were actually useful; good, solid kitchen items, pretty home pieces, and gifts that feel thoughtful without being fussy. So I started stocking things I’d buy for my own girls, my friends, or anyone setting up a home.

Saddle to the Skillet is now a spot where you can put together a whole gift in one place — for newlyweds, graduates, housewarmings, or just because someone needs a little something. Everything here is chosen with intention and a whole lot of heart.
